Joint health and social care budget to rise to £5 billion

The NHS and local authorities are to channel over £5 billion into a shared budget in 2015-16 under the Better Care Fund, according to the Health Services Journal (HSJ). That would be significantly more than the £3.8 billion originally earmarked by the government for the fund.
