The delivery of health and care services in the home is entering an exciting phase: overall demand is increasing due to an aging population and the prevalence of long-term conditions. The consensus is that care is better and less costly when delivered outside hospitals and nursing homes. At the same time, common sense (and now even politicians) is driving towards integrated care and the pooling of health and social resources.
